This Florida city along the Gulf of Mexico and the Pithlachascotee River is situated approximately 30 miles from Tampa Bay. New Port Richey was settled back in 1883 by Missourian A. M. Richey and his family. The city was later incorporated in 1924. Notable sites include James E. Grey Preserve, Sims Park and Orange Lake Park and West Pasco Historical Society Museum and Library.
