Located east of the Great Salt Lake, the city of Ogden is known for its historic buildings and railway history. Ogden was the first permanent settlement in the area of Utah by European settlers. It was once a major passenger railroad junction, earning the motto, "You can't get anywhere without coming to Ogden." The city is home to many historical building and sites such as its Historic 25th Street, Downtown and Peery's Egyptian Theater. Ogden has also been a popular movie location and has had many films filmed there, including the popular family films "The Sand Lot" and Disney's "Airbud."
