About Wells Gray Provincial Park

The British Columbia park features nearly 40 major waterfalls as well as forests, mountains, extinct volcanoes and the Clearwater River spread throughout 1.3 million acres. Wells Gray Provincial Park was established in 1939 is often called "Canada's Waterfalls Park" and contains 700-plus species of vascular plants, 200-plus mushroom species, 56 mammal species and 219 bird species. Notable attractions are Helmcken Falls, Spahats Creek Falls, Clearwater Lake, Murtle Lake, Third Canyon, Green Mountain and the Mushbowl.
